Can you wear french cuffs with a sweater

Isn't it argument enough that almost every reply to this thread has basically been "don't do it? Buy a sweater from Goodwill and try it out for a day. As for the chorus of don't do it, I can't be swayed by opinions that I believe are not considered, or founded on a false premise.

French cuff shirts are very formal. Sweaters are not. February 8, , PM. I find French cuffs out of place on any shirt with buttons rather than studs. The studs give balance to the cuff-links and extra material at the cuff that buttons do not. That said, there is one exception, but it is rarely worn--the morning suit.
